Obviously there is something else that allows life that even science cannot explain.

Much like we as humans, with all our knowledge and technology are wholly incapable of breathing life back into a corpse. If life was truly just a carbon based cioncidence built on a string of chemical reactions then why can we not simulate it? If it were that simple we would be able to recreate it. Yet we can't.

In all organic living beings there is an "energy" that science cannot explain. That is the important thing. Once that "energy" has left the body comepletely it is gone and never returns.

Machines will never have this "energy" regerdless of how sentient they may become. We are like machines too. Our processors are just above and beyond anything else. Yet we still have something that cannot be created or replicated.

On a final note, we must be careful when speaking of science. Always remember that science is made up of two worlds. Practical science and theoreitcal science. Practical science is that which can be proven by experimentation over and over again. Like proving the boiling point of water or that a 250 pound weight will always overcome the friction of a 180 pound weight horizontally. Theoritical science is things like the universe, energy etc. These are theories that cannot be proven by way of experiment or repetition. They are hypothesis formed from observation. That is why it is still called "The Big Bang THEORY". There are signs that point toward it, yet it cannot be factually proven and never will be. Look at Stephen Hawking for example. People always quote him to disregard any notion of the divine. Yet, Hawking's title is not simple "Physicist" it is "THEORETICAL Physicist".

In many cases science and religion are just two different end of the same spectrum. What makes scientific theory any more correct than religious theory? Neither can be proven outright.

We can breathe life back into a corpse, its keeping it going and the brain possibly being dead that's the problem.

What makes scientific theory any more correct than religious theory?

Science is based on demonstrable facts while religion is based on faith. To even ask that question means you don't understand a damned thing.

False. Scientific theory cannot be factually demonstrated. That is exactly why it is called theory. I didn't say science. I said theoretical science and I explained the difference in detail. What you are talking about is practical science.

Demonstrate to me that the universe is saddle shaped by an expirement that can be repeated with exact results. You can't becuase it's not fact. Remember the cornerstone of scientific experiment; "If it cannot be repeated, it's not science." It is a hypothesis formed from observation, and just as a reminder "the Earth is flat" was another hypothesis fromed from observation and we all know how that turned out. Untill we can fully see and understand the universe from outside of itself we can create theories all we want but we will never prove any of them.

To the poster about a sustaining life in a corspe. Yes we can keep someone alive via machines. I said once all life has left the body, as in so dead that you cannot even be defibrilated, then we cannot do anything. We can simulate the heart pump, we can let oxygen flow to the vital organs, we can simulate every criteria needed for life but that person will stay dead.

Do humans have souls?

Yeah

No

Your sentience is the product of millions of chemical processes.

Anything about spirituality or souls is severely overestimating your own worth.

Or underestimating it, given that a soul is such a simple explanation compared to the insanely complex processes which go into the sentience we have.

Of course Cortana has a sole, she has feet doesn't she? She's probably got two of them!
