Why would Pioneer not be one of the selectable 2 specializations?

So it gives you extra XP? Wouldn't you want to use it pretty early on then?

Cause 343/Microsoft decided not to.

It originally was set to be. I think 343 foresaw the issue that is happening right now, where people are capping at 70 and getting pissed off. If Pioneer was one of the first two specializations to unlock, people would just have hit the cap sooner.

I have it and it doesn't make a lot of difference. It gives about 1k extra XP in Spartan Ops and between 400 and 600 in a regular match. That's if you use it the entire match, which prevents you from using other perks in that slot and etc etc.

1K?? That's it? Damn that kinda sucks. So would that be 2K with 2x exp?

God did not create Man in his image, for it was Man who created God in his.

Fast Track isn't affected by double xp... Kinda lame. :(

That extra 1,000 XP can be useful though to compensate on double XP per rank. I actually just hit SR 50 and decided to do Pioneer as my first Specialization. The first rank of the Specialization is 11,300, which is easily covered by 1 double XP match of Spartan Ops, the second rank of a specialization is just over 12,000. I figure with this minimal increase per rank on the specializations, fast track should be enough to offset Double XP matches in Spartan Ops.

Yeah, the exp bonus is much smaller than I expected. It seems to be only 16-20% which doesn't really worth it TBH.

seem worth it*
