So an n-Sphere with radius r, centered at 0 := {x in R^(n+1) | ||x|| = r} (the set of all x in R^(n+1) (graphs you generally see are in R^2) such that the distance from x to 0 is r)

at least, in Euclidean space.

And since distance in Euclidean space is measured by the vector 2-norm, ||x|| = r implies r^2 = (x_1)^2 + (x_2)^2 + ... + (x_(n+1))^2.
