I really wanted this to be 100% accurate, but didn't the Didact go into a self-imposed exile on Earth in his Cryptum after the Halo Array project was greenlighted? I don't think he was imprisoned.

Also, where is the evidence that it is the Ur-Didact that fired the rings and is the "good" Didact in all this?

*The Forerunner data led the Pillar of Autumn to Halo 04. The Pillar of Autumn crash lands.

Wasn't it a random jump to escape, I'm 90% sure it was. Also funny how Cortana acts like she has no idea about Forerunners throughout the whole campaign.

It's called "lying," and Cortana is good at it.

Yes, the Didact wasn't forced into his Earth cryptum, but he'd be pissing into the wind about the Halos anyway.

On the contrary, there's evidence that Bornstellar Didact is the "good" one. Who would forcibly turn humans into robots? Bornstellar, the one that's friends with humans? Or Ur, the one that waged a war on humans?

To the crew of the Pillar of Autumn, it was a *random* jump. But Cortana, behind their backs, had entered in the coordinates found a few weeks earlier on Sigma Octanus Four. These coordinates just happened to be the location of the Halo array.

It's mainly just speculation right now, as we probably won't find out 100% sure which Didact is which until Silentium comes out in March. But refer to this topic I made awhile back as to why I believe the Didact in Halo 4 is Bornstellar.

It makes the most sense. Yes, according to the novels, Bornstellar was the "good" Didact, but we don't know if something is going to happen to him that possibly turns him against the humans/Librarian. As seen in the Halo 4 terminal videos, something obviously DOES happen.

And since the Ur-Didact has been confirmed as returning and being a central character in Silentium, I just presumed that it is Bornstellar who will be getting stashed in the cryptum on Requiem and the Ur-Didact will resume his role and be the one to ultimately fire the Halo's.

Small problem: The Halo 4 Didact underwent further mutations to try to achieve Flood immunity, ironically making him unable to be Composed. So this could still be either one.

I would bet money on Bornstellar not being the Didact in Halo 4.
