Ok, you got me there... well, a 800 MSP deduction would show up on their billing history with the transaction.

That wouldn't work either. That would be like going to a store, getting a free sample, then the clerk knocking on your door demanding $2 for the free sample you already ate.
Plus, it was advertised as free. So they legally can't do that.
And why the hell do you care so much? Stop being such a bitter child about this. It's literally $8 or so bucks.

Then I don't give a flying ****. But think logically, how will Microsoft separate those who paid and those who didn't, then magically block the players who got it for free from using the data that is already on their system? Which is, essentially, the same file that everybody else downloaded?


Deactivate the license for the content and take it off the marketplace. You can't play the DLC without the license. Map pass/LE edition people still have free access as their pass won't be taken away. They just will have to download the maps again once it is put back up on the marketplace with a different license.

A: Digital products aren't like physical products.

B: As long as you've agreed to the EULA/ToS, they can more or less do what they want.

C: It's $5 I could've put towards something else, DLC for a different game perhaps.

What do you mean 'never happen'? They've already said they're treating it as a free trial. Besides, why do you think you deserve something for free that others had to pay for? As for doing something productive, you're right here arguing with me.

When did I ever say that I deserve it? I'm saying, realistically, they aren't going to lock it because it is literally impossible to track. Why do you think you deserve a refund when you knowingly bought something that is non-refundable? Jeez.

It's not impossible to track, just depends on how lazy they are and if they want their money. Also, things labeled as 'non-refundable' have been refunded before. And I'm not necessarily asking for a refund, but if they gave me something to show for the $5, I'd be satisfied.

I'm glad you have such a deep knowledge of the inner workings of XBL. Quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that they can't just brick everyone's validation, then force you to revalidate and check your billing history and map pass ownership when you do.
