So is this now experiencing the hate Reach got?

There's a vast silent majority of people who have the game, love it, and don't come here to post about it.

This. GameFAQs has gotten to the point where it's not about discussing games anymore. Just the vocal section of the population complaining about games because it's not like their favorite version.

Go into the CoD (anything beyond W@W) pages, you'll see "Why isn't this like CoD4?" Here, it's Halo 2. Legend of Zelda, it's Ocarina of Time (which, every 3D Zelda game uses as an extremely solid foundation, they are mostly the same). Resident Evil 6 is "Why isn't this RE4?"

Surprisingly, there's more discussion about the Pokemon games than GenWars in the Black2/White2, and also, there's entire trading boards full of game related discussion.

The point is, games are evolving. They aren't staying the same as predecessors because if a gaming company doesn't take risks, we don't get games like our favorites.

My only complaint about Halo 4 is giving the player the ability to see through walls. I'm not making topic after topic about it. I'm not completely disowning the game or series because of it. It's one thing I dislike, and I'm looking beyond it. I have a great time playing it with my friends, and I don't understand the hate.

This. People only generally seem to go online to rant if they feel particularly negative about a game.

And for the record I like Halo 4 a lot. I also liked all the other Halos. I have great memories of playing Halo 3, but I suspect if I went back and played it now it wouldn't seem as fun as 4. Rose tinted glasses and all that.

Reach and 4 are the best in show, in my opinion. Halo 2 and 3 had way, way, way too much reliance on the Battle Rifle.

Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, Reach, and Halo 4. What's the point of comparing them? They're all f***in awesome games, deal with it
