I've probably gotten one, maybe two kills tops with Pulse Grenades. They just seem absolutely garbage. Any tips? The only real ideal use I can think of is during King of the Hill, given that players will be focused on holding down one spot. They implode too slowly, as soon as they're thrown out players have plenty of time to escape the blast radius.

Oh good, I'm not the only one that thinks so.
They might be ok if Armor Lock were still in the game, lulz.

I will get in an Abrams and sit on the runway, right in front of the jets. Jets can't go in reverse.

The implosion isn't the useful part of the Pulse Grenade.
If you can line up the throw such that an enemy gets caught in the ion field whatsit, their shield is as good as gone. This generally won't happen in a straight-out standoff, of course - you need to get a bit creative.

Also they're ridiculous in Objective modes.

they are like reverse frags. Frags you throw to soften a target. these you throw to kill them after the battle has begun. throw them at the feet of someone that has taken some damage, they will die in the initial blast if you time it right. Pulse also has the field effect which is a short term damage zone which can be useful.

The best uses for these grenades are not offensive, but strategical. Use them to flush enemies out of cover if you know they are behind a rock or around a corner/pillar. Also, you can use them to discourage pursuit or limit the avenue of escape for an enemy as you flank around the other way.

For direct kills, they do very little. I believe they shut vehicles off too.

This is the only consistent way to use them effectively. You still won't get kills with the actual grenade, but the insant shield drain pretty much wins the fight for you, unless they have a power weapon.

You CAN pretty much get an instant kill if you hit an unshielded target with them too, but you'll usually have to catch them off guard.

Once you get good at using them, you'll get the occasional kill. Sometimes people run right through them as they go explode, either because it's behind them and they were too distracted or you trapped them.

Use an automatic, then throw it to finish the kill.
If a vehicle gets caught in a corner. It might not get the kill(s), but it's at least funny. (To me, anyway)

The things you guys are suggesting, Frags are still better for. What you use Pulse Grenades for is area denial.

See somebody getting pressured who wants to run into a hallway? Throw a Pulse Greande in the entrance and finish them off.

Did you run into a hallway or around a corner to escape but somebody is chasing you? Throw a Pulse Grenade behind you and make them wait for it to finish or take the long way around, giving you time to recharge or line up a shot and also better predict which way they are going to take.

Is there something about the way I type that makes it sound angry? Maybe it's just something about the way you read.

Nope. A pulse detonates instantly, right where it lands. It's much easier to use in a 1 on 1 after you've engaged the guy.
