elitewarrior500 (Topic Creator) Posted 1/25/2013 1:59:32 PM | except in something like halo 2 bunige catered to the competitive players and look how successful that game was. halo 3 followed suit (somewhat) and it still was successful as hell. once the game got catered to casuals for the most part starting with reach and now it seems halo 4 the populations have been going down --- E=mc^(OMG)/wtf GT: Ceph Falco |

Why would you settle for 85% when you can have 100% satisfaction? No, that is stupid no matter how you cut it. Because, 15% doesn't matter. And no matter how you cater to both you'll never have the full 100% it's time to just accept that. This is a business, nothing more. Any businessman who doesn't accept that he's not going to wow the entire population is doomed to failure. The money and time needed to cater to more than the mass majority isn't worth the returns you get. That's economics. --- Pokemon Black 2 FC: 5372-8212-5739 | 3DS Friend Code 0430-8284-1167 | Gamertag: UltimaWraith |

Hm...really succesful catering to casuals who all dropped the game for CoD in a sec. Doesn't mean a thing how many people are on NOW. They don't make money from people keeping the game, just from buying it initially. All they have to do is sell the game off the shelf and they've already made their profit whether you keep the game one day or one lifetime. --- Pokemon Black 2 FC: 5372-8212-5739 | 3DS Friend Code 0430-8284-1167 | Gamertag: UltimaWraith |
X250Posted 1/25/2013 2:11:51 PM | The problem is that not many people will buy Halo 5 if they're disappointed with this game.
I gave this game a chance because Halo Reach was pretty cool after the TU.
I have no reason to buy Halo 5 when Halo 4 is so shoddy. |

I have no reason to buy Halo 5 when Halo 4 is so shoddy. But has been admitted many times before there will always be people that will buy Halo 5 for the sake of it being Halo 5. As long as that core base is enough to overtake their profit line, they will go onward. There are always going to be the fanboys that will eat it all up no matter what. I'm sure offhand you could probably name at least 5 without breaking a sweat that I couldn't name. It's just the way it is in the long run. Profit > Innovation. If a popsicle stick could be sold for 5$ each, why invest money in developing one that's more expensive to produce? --- Pokemon Black 2 FC: 5372-8212-5739 | 3DS Friend Code 0430-8284-1167 | Gamertag: UltimaWraith |

It isn't 343i's goal to cater to these people. It's their goal to cater to the crowd they actually have to put effort into to please. Btw, if you ever work at a gaming company, please tell me its name so I know where to get shoddy products. |
