Anyone else tried messing with Oddball in private games? Are there issues with combining certain settings? Nothing outside of the normal mode seemed to work when we tried doing some custom team games at a LAN this week.
First I set up a version in which, among other things, the only way to score was by killing someone with an Oddball melee (hold bonus 0, ball kill bonus 10, carrier kill bonus 0). We started the match and had to cancel it, because it was still 0 to 0 after several ball kills.
The next match I put the hold bonus back on and left everything normal except for enabling teams and the Hot Potato Timer at 5-20 seconds. We played through the match with some people holding the ball for a minute at a time, but the ball never once exploded.
In the modern world, "common sense" is an oxymoron.
