Placed strict gun laws in 2002, then saw their highest gun crime rate EVER in 2006.
Still sound logic? Nah. There are way more factors than just that.
I'd like to see their statistics over a longer period of time, because the UK / US comparison is pretty consistent. I'd put your example down to simply the trouble that would arise from the early stage of that law's introduction.
Can't say I can recall ever hearing about cops getting killed by grenades in the US...
That was pretty much a one off by some crazy guy. And that only happened because the information the police had at the time was incorrect, and the mad dude made a prank call to the police to get the officers to come to the house unarmed.
