Halo 4

Every Spartan Ops match I've played online has been with randoms and I've never had much of a problem with it / them at all really... and I've played ALOT of Spartan Ops online: 236 online games completed, 16969 enemy kills (so looks like I'm averaging just over 70 kills per game at this point), 8982 headshots - per current Waypoint stats).

Most people I've been matched with don't seem to have a problem with the difficulty level either and at minimum manage to get more kills than deaths the majority of the time. Some don't get alot of kills, of course... but even then, you can still use them as cannon fodder to draw fire, so it's all good there. Hell, I think the most dangerous enemy I've encountered so far are teammates in ghosts...

I have to agree with thinking it's better on Legendary. This way you get the most out of it in regards to challenge. If you really wanted to curb-stomp it yourself, then you can solo on easy. But if you want to play it online, with 4 other people, then Legendary makes it more fun. Some moments can be frustrating, admittedly, but overall I think it's a better experience this way.

Also, noob combo FTW. Personally my first real Sp Ops specific loadout was Firepower with DMR and an auto (I swapped all 3 in at various points) because I was used to playing the campaign on Normal. Autos were great on Elites/Knights/flying things on Normal. Now on Legendary, the DMR takes like 15 shots to kill a gold elite or just one EMP + one DMR headshot. It actually trivializes some of the enemies, but on Legendary, with as many enemies as there are, mixed with your "allies" blocking your shots, it still makes it a challenge.

Anyway, I get what you're saying, but if you really wanted just an easy experience, you can still do it solo. If you're playing with a team of 4, there's no reason it shouldn't be Legendary.

if you're not pulling top kills with randoms on legendary then yes you are bad or a tank.
and it was set since last month when they reran the first five episodes. any match with 3+ will set it to legendary. 2 or less will be heroic.

Im not amazing at this game but i still easily go through all of the missions with randoms. Seriously its not difficult. You have unlimited respawns.

Spartan Ops matchmaking is only set to Legendary if you have 3 or more people. If do it solo or with 1 other person it gets set to Heroic.

Whereas if you forgo matchmaking in favor of doing them solo or with a party, you obviously get to choose your difficulty like always.

It's not so much "hard" (thank you, infinite respawns) as it is frustrating. Dying a lot isn't very fun. And in my defense, this is the first day I've played in months.
