As far as I knew, it's not the gear that makes someone a SPARTAN X, it's the process. Therefor Chief is kinda stuck as a II no matter what.

He was a II in MJOLNIR 1-6 gear, right?

Yea but its the augmentation surgery they go through that really changes them into the supersoldier, so I assume TC means it'll be a new surgery process. Although technically each spartan belongs to the numbered group he was raised with, the number symbolizing the program he's involved in, so actually I'm not sure.

Why would he? He is the more insistence version of the Spartan IV's, the only downfall is the incredibly small gene pool necessary for the enhancements and the low survival rate of the subjects.

Good point, I forgot that he's the generation of Spartans before they were mass produced as more soldiers/less quality, so yes there's really no reason to do so.

Considering Spartans from all generations were invited to the SPARTAN-IV program; Orions, Spartan 1.1s, SPARTAN-IIs and SPARTAN-IIIs could be considered SPARTAN-IVs if they joined. There is reason to believe a number of Spartan-IVs are former ODSTs as well.

Doesn't change anything, just their title, but I'm assuming not because like airsoft246 said,
"Regardless if its possible or not, he shouldn't. One of the last spartan IIs is part of what makes him so iconic."

True, if he under went any more physical modifications or enhancements, outside of armor esthetics, it would distract from what makes the chief so golden.

Come to think of it, I've never heard mention that the Spartan IV's even have augmentation, for all we know they could literally just have a MJOLNIR armour meant for 'regular' soldiers.

That's true, but what would be the point of the armor for a normal soldier? Wouldn't it have to have been severely nerfed for a regular soldier to wear it?
