How to get bad casuals at a tournament

#1yoshiisbackPosted 2/10/2013 7:17:48 PM
I'm trying to start a 2v2 tourney in green bay, Wisconsin with some school friends, but I want to have a Max amount of randoms. A few other local tourneys had like 20 four man teams of randoms and I don't know how.

Also, can I play in my own tourney and what other side "events" should go on? We were thinking beer pong tourney or smash bros melee.

Shouldn't be too hard, Green Bay is small enough.

Get the word out, beer pong sounds fun. I don't think it would be fair if you played, you're on a different level than these guys.

Step one. Acquire a load of random drugs

Step two. Put them all in a hat

Step three. Make your contestants draw from the hat. Then that is their drug for the evening.

But also yoshi surely you are way better than anyone you'd get to go to the tourney so I would say definitely yes of course you should play.

At a halo tourney, it doesn't.

There's 12 solid teams that will go, 2 of which took top 12 at Chicago. Plus Kampy and his teammate would be no pushover.

The problem is still filling the prize pool with first round exits. I never understood how difficult catering to the casual audience is until I'm actually trying it myself.

Anyway, one idea is to make it more of a party style LAN with a $50 entry fee/ bracket spot. Music, stream, and commentary would be 10x better than agl. We have some personalities for the stream to say the least.
