Question about the spartan armor.

Did it ever had a low-yield explosive device that would blow up the armor if the spartan inside died? So the technology wouldn't fall into enemy hands.

I could have sworn I read this somewhere but now I am beginning to think this is from a different game.

Nah, that sounds more Crysis-esque.

I don't think the covenant would fit in Spartan armor all that well.

Are you talking about the Cobras in MGS 3?

This. All Freelancer armor is supposed to detonate upon death. Oddly enough, York's armor never did that until Wash set it to SD manually.

The fusion reactor that recharges the shields on MJOLNIR armor can be used as a low yield nuclear device but it usually has to be set manually.

Is there something about the way I type that makes it sound angry? Maybe it's just something about the way you read.

It seems like it wouldn't matter if Spartan armor fell into enemy hands, since every enemy Humanity has fought (with the exception of itself) has been superior technologically anyway.

I think the main logic initially was worry that the Insurrection could obtain the armor off a fallen Spartan and be able to find weak spots and vulnerabilities in the armor.

With the Covenant, more emphasis would be denying them any on-board A.I. and prevent the improved shielding tech from being reversed-reversed engineered.
