Everything is the same, the Boltshot is getting an ever so slight buff (I think) when the TU releases at the end of this month.

Well there's a few new playlists that offer more competitive settings. Like Team Throwdown uses v2 settings which is BR starts. Next week, a map pack will be released, and it will contain 3 small-medium sized maps. TU is also supposed to be released soon.

No, it is a buff. 343i just announced that the boltshot now has lock-on functionality, the burst functionality is now fully automatic, the weapon has unlimited range, and it will be the new starting weapon for all playlists.

They have also announced that the DMR is now capable of stun-locking.

Reportedly, Halo 3 playlist population has had a massive spike recently...

DMR is the same, but possibly getting a slight nerf in the near Title Update, along with a Boltshot nerf. Supposed to release before the end of the month.

Also a couple of new permanent playlists:

Team Throwdown (basically MLG/Hardcore from the previous games)
Team Doubles
Griffball
Team Snipers

Spartan Ops Season 1 is complete, and the next map pack is also due soon, with 2 small maps and 1 medium map.
