It's to jump across an exposed area so your head isn't in a predictable place for someone who might be camping waiting for you to go around the corner.

I hate this train of thought. Personally I love swat. I'm a decent halo player. But some mlg tryhard tells me I suck if I play a gametype he doesn't. If you don't like it don't play it. Easy enough. Go play slayer or regicide or whatever you like. This thought process of, "oh I don't like it/ am not good at it so anybody who does/is must suck, bk," is just plain out stupid.

jumping in swat is for leet players. if i jump and you miss me youre dead because im not going to miss you. sure you might be able to predict my landing trajectory but it wont matter if youre dead before i land
