I refuse to pay to play online in a non MMO environment on the PC, i paid 2k for my PC, 70 a month for my net, and 80 for a game new, why would i pay for MP?

You can still one hit kill Scorpions, I have. More than likely someone had the Operator perk on, giving it more resistance. There are times I've hit Banshees and Mantis' with a direct hit and didn't kill them and other times I've winged them and killed them with one shot.

it won't kill a perfect condition/health/whatever you wanna call it (before the vehicle is visibly flaming) with 1 shot, so that was probably the difference. otherwise the laser has the least amount of aim support in the game so there are times where you can actually graze someone and drop them to 1shot rather than kill them, kinda lame. you need veryyy steady aim to get consistent laser kills

And on top of it, the charge time is longer.

The spartan laser is a harsh mistress. I find it's only saving grace is the fact that you can "drag" your reticle across the target when firing to maximize area coverage. As previously stated though, this will often result in wounding and not killing.
