As you control the middle, send 1-2 (preferably 2) people to get the other team's flag carrying towards the line of sight of your teammates so they can pick off any pursuers.
So My setup would look like this for a 5 man team:
2-3 players in middle
1-2 players on offense
When up more than 2 captures
3-4 in middle
1 on offense
That's kinda how I try to tell them to play but at least one of them insists on defending. Thanks for confirming what I already thought.
They don't seem to get that if you let the enemy attack you while you defend, all they have to do is get a good run at you and kill you off, then they have a decent amount of time to get the flag halfway across the map before you can respawn.
I'll have another go at talking to them tonight, and try to find another team if they won't listen I guess =)
