Can you explain to me how they can change the ROF while still keeping the kill time the same? It seems impossible to do that unless they reduce the damage of each shot.

The kill time wouldn't be the same the number of shots to kill would be the same and even with said rof nerf the dmr would still come out as top tier or at least more in sync with the others.

I truly believe 343 should have done something about the BR's inconsistency with the spread of a shot. There are times where I can/get kill/ed by BR quite quickly before the DMR takes someone down. Whereas there are times where the BR takes a lot of shots to kill said opponent.

Ignore what the TC says about the 4 shot DMR. He meant BR. The DMR isn't changing, at least in their current status of the weapon balance.

Source: 343 Halo Bulletin 4/17/13 Looking at the DMR, we currently feel that the kill time should remain unchanged, as the weapon has become a clear favorite amongst the community due to its reliability and consistency. So tuning the Battle Rifle, LightRifle and Carbine against this weapon presented quite a challenge. Here are the tweaks that have currently been made, and the challenges associated with each.

So basically it's, "People like that this gun is overpowered, so we're keeping it how it is"?
Seriously, what is this awful ****ing logic? They're favoring opinion over balance? Goddamnit, 343...

Its only become a "community favorite" because its overpowered, not because its actually the gun people want to use.

Except it's not overpowered now that the other rifles got buffed. now the BR is going to be overpowered.

They should have just removed the BR all together. It's too similar to the DMR and one will always be at least slightly more powerful, rendering the other one useless.

They should remove the DMR all together, since all the weapons would have been balanced before without it. These changes wouldn't even be necessary if it was never included in the first place.

Eh, not really. Doesn't change the fact the kill times overall are entirely too long, and the inconsistency of the BR due to random and unnecessary spread.

But the BRs spread is what holds it in mid range and stops it from being OP at long range
