The game is coming out on 2 different platforms at the same time. The PS3 version is 10$ more then the Vita version. Is there a difference between the 2 besides the 10$ difference?

Yes.

The only differences are no local coop on the Vita and touch screen controls in place of using the right stick and L button if you so desire. The touch is completely optional though.

Apparently there are some slowdown on Vita during the really crazy moments. But according to others its nothing gamebreaking.

Vita also have smaller screen real estate. Not sure how that affects anything, but its something that ought to be mentioned.

As someone who played a lot of Bare Knuckle (or Streets of Rage in the US) back in the day, I don't really feel the impact of the slowdowns at all. Maybe it's cause I'm used to it. The ability to just touch the shinies, chests and doors sure beats having to use the right stick to maneuver the cursor around though.

wait theres no local co-op on the vita version? Meaning if my friend is in the same room as me, we need to connect to the internet to play with each other?

That's not local multiplayer.
That is adhoc and of course you can do that. Weird question.

Local multiplayer means 2 or more player on the same console.
As in a PS3 with 2~4 controllers.
That, of course, is impossible on the Vita.
