No more having to unlock the ability to save!

All three of these games have the terrible idea to have to unlock the ability to save after beating the Final Boss. Why can't this be a standard feature?

So I'm still waiting for Daisy to reappear in something that's not a spinoff.
I'll probably end up dying first or something but optimism is fun.

I haven't played those games, but what.. You had to do them in one swing? Man, that is just so archaic

A Nintendo Power article I read a long time ago before the release of NSMB stated that Nintendo did it on purpose, as a homage to Super Mario World and the old Mario games where you could only safe after clearing a tower, special stage or and castle.

No, you could save after clearing buildings like SMW. (Castles, etc.)

No. You're allowed to save every time you beat a Fortress or Castle. And in NSMB or NSMB2 whenever you spend coins to open new paths.

Dunno about NSMB2, but NSMBW allowed you to quick save, which in a game where game overs are near impossible, is pretty much the same thing.

Still though, I don't see the point in keeping it locked...

Pointless lives, pointless scoring system, pointless save system...

Nintendo is too out of touch to understand when something is outdated and obsolete, and they're not trying very hard to figure it out.
