In addition, the Hookshot has decisively more use in combat.
Actually, in terms of combat, the Clawshot can do a lot of what the hookshot can do. It just makes a lot less sense since it doesn't have a sharpened hook on it.
It really doesn't. In almost every game the Hookshot appears in, it causes damage to almost every enemy or stun them with the same effect as a Deku Nut. The Clawshot can only damage super weak enemy (Keese, rats, etc.), and its stun is so short it's not even worth using.
