I'd like for anyone to tell me with a straight face that LoZ is better than OoX or TMC in gameplay mechanics, level design, controls, and overall presentation. You can't. Because deep within, you know it isn't true.

Same with OoT and MM, TWW, TP

I could easily tell you that with a straight face, and I love OoX. OoX are more refined in the areas they focus on, yes. However, TLoZ is better for me personally in the direction it chooses to go. Non-linearity, combat (OoX have too spammy sword combat in comparison), overword design, and the feeling of growth.

and again, I love OoX.

Combat in LoZ is only hard because of the archaic design (like the horribly outdated movement controls and the tiny range of your sword.)

Combat in TLoZ only became "archaic" when the newer Zelda games released with easier movement, more spammy sword combat and more techniques without also increasing the difficulty of the enemies. TLoZ doesn't have archaic combat, it has properly balanced combat unlike most Zelda games. If you want more mobility and a longer sword, that's fine. But find a balance between what your character can do, and what the enemies can do; that's the difference between good combat and bad combat.

TLoZ doesn't even have "hard" combat, it has balanced combat. Even Skyward Sword with all of its flashy motion controls still had terrible balance in the combat department, and thus the combat in SS is still not good inspite of all its "modern" design. Link is a god compared to any enemy in that game, and that is not a good thing.

It is the definition of "Nintendp Hard". I believe OoX had the perfect difficulty a 2D Zelda game should have, it is more balanced than LoZ could ever be.

Seriously though, I think this is the problem with gfaqs. People say they're not trolling or they're just don't think they are.

BTW this is DEFINITELY a troll topic.

OoX is a cake walk combat wise (for the most part). That's why Ages is considered the better game between the two; because although Seasons concentrated more on action, those games are too easy with combat, based off their design (although they have a few tough bosses). Ages focused more on puzzles which is what both games were/would be suited better towards

Seasons is the better game, because Zelda is not meant to be a puzzle based game. And Seasons is the natural evolution of all gameplay mechanics in LoZ, including the combat - by no means it is too easy. It's perfect.

I agree with this because that statement is just silly. If anyone played Zelda just for the combat they wouldn't be playing Zelda.

Puzzles weren't really introduced until Zelda 4 so I think someone's mad their opinions are lame and resort to name calling ...

^Literally the entire first game was one massive puzzle in and of itself.
