PH and ST are the two worst games in the series. If you're not having fun just stop, you aren't missing anything.

PH sucked! I'd say skip it and wiki any story points you may be curious about

I actually loved PH. However if you don't like it from the start, then odds are it will not grow on you. It's lengthy, especially if you don't like playing it.

Funny, though. I loved PH but loath Spirit Tracks. Maybe because from the beginning of the game, it feels like a train-mod instead of a sequel.

Phantom Hourglass is probably my favorite handheld Zelda. Obviously your taste sucks.

The touch-controls are not the flaw of the game.
It's not like the enemies aren't super slow to compensate the time someone not used to touch controls needs to react...
Plus they opened room for new puzzles. Else we would have gotten a repeatition of past handheld Zelda puzzles through the whole game.

The game just has a very filler-like and uninteresting cliche plot, a bunch of forgottable characters with exception of Linebeck (who has an interesting development by the end of the game), an annoying sail mechanic (choose route, wait, get interrupted by a monster all the time), a bunch of useless custom parts, a tedious time-consuming minigame to get any single piece of treasure from the sea, a goddamn awful poor and repeatitive soundtrack, lack of atmosphere in and out of dungeons, uninspired dungeon design, and the super frustrating Temple of the Ocean King.

That's why it's the worst Zelda game ever.
