Yes.

Why, do you ask?

Simple. The whole premise of SS was to make us feel "like a true swordman" with the motion controls. This has been something that most of us were thinking when we saw the Revolution for the first time.

So why did it sucked, then?

Because there was no combat at all.

You see, combat in Zelda games is this: You see an enemy, slash the crap out of them and then collect whatever rupee or little heart the generous RNG dropped on you. What did SS wrong?

It turned every enemy into a damn directional puzzle. Yes, the sword movements were accurate, but killing every single enemy using "slash up" or "slash right" got very tiresome after a while.

Where was the thrill? TP motion controls used waggle as a replacement for a button, and henceforth, the speed (or more precisely, the frequency) of the slashes was so off. If you waggled the Wiimote like 5 times in a second, the game would only register 1 slash .No those 5 slashes you made it. Then, I was dissapointed.

With the anouncement of SS, I regained hope once more, only to be let down once AGAIN . Now, this is what should be fixed:

1. Make the combat a thrill again: Slashing the bajeezus of everything furiously until it dies, without having to worry about direction or such nonsense, is something that should have been SS's top priority. Instead, we got directional puzzles and (awful) slow pseudocombat. Make swordplay fun again, please.

2. Reserve the tactics and strategy for the boss battles: Boss battles in SS were a letdown (sans for the oh-so-amazing universally acclaimed Koloktos), and this is mainly because a)They weren't difficult enough, or b) They used yet again the directional puzzle variant of the enemies. There are a lot of ways to make bosses hard, yet fun. An example would be the Darknut from TP, done right, using SS motion controls.

3. Stop tacking motion onto everything : Motion controls are supposed to be an extension of the player's limb. When we use them for the sword, is fine. But swimming? Hell no. That was disgusting. What could have been an easy button-like experience instead got pretty convoluted and not translated into a good experience. Also, they should use the motions for the Whip a lot better (and make the whip a lot more useful).

It's not a bad game though.

This game wont use motion controls, completely sure of that. Nintendo loves to use their consle gimmicks in their important titles, and this console's gimmick is the tablet controller.

Bad Overworld.
Bad Storyline.
Was a cluster**** of an origins story.
ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLORATION
The swordplay was awful
The soundtrack was completely forgettable.
Bad item usage. Items aren't key-openers.
The dungeons are some of the worst of the series.

You want more?

Moogle just dislikes SS more and more everyday
He's went from "Oh my God this game is AMAYZEH!" to "This game is great!" "Eh, it's kinda disappointing I guess" to "It's...okay" and now "This game and everything about it is the devil!"

It's really fascinating watching him go through the motions like that.

Anyway, SS was an improvement on the standard combat. Sure the battles were kinda slow and there was a bit of variety lacking with the enemies, but the bosses and enemies could actually hurt you and the combat required some semblance of skill, which is more than I can say for the other 3D Zeldas
