What if Ganondorf starts as an unassuming senator who uses a conflict with a never-before-seen villain (that he is secretly giving orders to) to rally power to his cause and oust out the ruling chancellor?

Next, he uses his charisma to stay in office past the usual maximum terms, and then secretly escalates the conflict with the aforementioned new villain. Then, when the Republic starts to panic, he introduces his secret army that he was funding in some isolated place.

Then he gets an inside agent in the Knights of Hyrule and uses that agent and his new army to eliminate all his opposition (including the new villain he was ordering) within the Republic and declare the Republic an Empire? Eh? Ehhhhh?
