From the quote I read, Aonuma never confirmed...

Gender pronouns are used much, much less often in Japanese, for what it's worth. It causes a lot of confusion in the translation of manga and anime when androgynous characters are introduced.

He both refers to the character as Link and he in this.

I figured someone would say this. See I don't think the gender pronoun can really be taken as confirmation. He is referring to Link in general. And he also stated that he wouldn't say anything specific, which honestly implies that there is more to this. If Link was jut male I feel like he would go right out and say it, but all I the commentary about player input seems to be giving us a different narrative.

Nevermind that Skyrim is an obvious inspiration in this game, and Skyrim has character creation. I believe there will be some of it here, too.

Except for the fact that when Aonuma goes on about not wanting to define Link, he is specifically talking about the trailer. He doesn't want to limit everyone in their discussions. And he didn't mean he doesn't want to give a specific answer, because if he didn't give an answer then he'd be further "limiting", so to speak, of what people talk about. He means he doesn't want to make any set, profound changes to Link, thereby defining him further as a character and have people become stuck on the change. He wants them to stop talking about Link and start talking about other aspects of the trailer.

I'm not arguing that there is no character creator. I, in fact, think a character creator would be very conducive towards furthering Link as an extension of the player, and that Aonuma could very well have that planned, in which case, he may have said he because being a male is the default, due to him always being a male. I'm merely arguing that making a permanent change to Link's gender and defining him "for a narrative" would not be conducive towards what Aonuma's trying to accomplish.

I'm not even sure which side you are arguing. If it doesn't affectthe character's personality or abilities.... So if some people want to play as a girl Link (not myself necessarily, but some people,) and others don't want other people to be allowed to make Link a girl... Who should the developers side with?

There is no right or wrong answer. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Yeah, okay. That input was useless.

Some opinions are objectively better than others.
This is my opinion, and I am entitled to it.

I take some issue with the use of opinion here. No, I'm not saying people aren't entitled to their own opinions, or anything nasty like that. What I AM saying is opinions are usually reserved for something that has a degree of subjectivity, such as, "Link looks like a girl," or "This art style is great!" However, when it comes down to Link's gender, there is no subjectivity there. You're either right, or you're wrong. Sure, you can have your belief, but again, that belief is either right or wrong. I could be wrong in thinking the Link in the trailer was male. It's my belief, but I could be wrong. Plenty of people could be wrong in thinking there'll be a character creator, or a gender select. Abugumgum could be wrong in thinking it was a female in the trailer. There is an answer, we just don't know it.

Think of the people who declared the character was Zelda. It was their belief. But they were wrong, because there was an objective answer.

Yeah, what he said, literally, was:
Eiji Aonuma: That might be something that consciously we kind of did, but not to say anything specific I am not saying anything specific but, I am hoping people continue to comment, and I will continue to follow the fan comments and reactions to the trailer. I am certainly curious, and I am sure there are things we as developers can glean.

Some sexist people earlier were saying this confirms Link will definetly be male, for some reason.

Enough with the mangina jargon.

That Link would be male... He merely said that the character in the freak was Link. He also implied that the gender ambiguity wasintentional and spent some time talking about Link representing the player.

So I personally still believe that Link will have A gender select option and that that was the female version. He is throwing too much into the whole gender/player preference thing for it to just be an androgynous Link on accident.

Unless Someone can show me the exact quote where Aonuma confirms that Link is male.

"I don't want to define him so much that it becomes limiting to the players. I want players to focus on other parts of the trailer and not specifically on the character because the character Link represents, again, the player."

You mustn't have read very closely.
