As someone who actually has beat Zelda II, I feel safe in saying that most of the posters in this topic are lying.

It's really not a super difficult game.

Once you get the downwards thrust it becomes down right easy. Even more so if you manage your level ups to give yourself more attack power before other stuff.

I crushed this game Christmas week... when it launched....

I totally recall my old man being insanely mad at me due to how expensive this game was back then and knowing once i beat it, it was onto a new game for me, which was more money for him lol

In the heat of the moment it's forgiveable to go Wiffle Ball Bat to FACE!

I will sign someday soon! It's on my to-play list. Right now Final Fantasy IX is holding me up (those RPGs usually do), and between that and real life I haven't gotten to any new games in a while.

I'm not lying. It's not that hard. Certainly Dark Souls and even the Lost Levels are harder.

Shadow link took me forever to beat i will admit that. My tactic was to let him back me up via blocking his advances until i was in left corner of the screen and then i did downward/half crouch looking stab at his head... Kinda looked like i bounced alll over his face. Worked multiple times. I found the previous mini boss HARDER because back in the 1980's i didnt have a gamefaqs to figure out what spell weakend the boss. It was all trial and error. hell even nintendo power only covered a small portion of the game.
