1. He or she actually has to be working for Ganondorf. Plenty of villains don't meet that requirement (e.g. Moblin King, Vaati, etc.) 2. He or she has to be humanoid, or capable of a humanoid form, and not just a feral monster (sorry Helmaroc King, I still love you). 3. He or she, preferably, can't be brainwashed or possessed (e.g. Nabooru). I've made one exception for a fan favorite, mostly so I won't get yelled at. :) So, with that being said, go ahead and choose your favorite Ganondorf minion! Also, keep in mind your choice can be based on whatever criteria you want (e.g. character design, backstory, how awesome their actual boss fight is, etc.) I'm interested to see who the fan favorites are and why. Twinrova: The Gerudo witch sisters who raised Ganondorf when he was just a boy. They're probably the reason he's such a proficient magic user. After Ganondorf died, they conspired to raise their "son" from the dead in the Oracle games . . . and succeeded. They're probably his most loyal minions. Veran: She's one of the two minions Twinrova recruits to resurrect Ganondorf. Like Twinrova and Ganondorf, she appears to be a powerful Gerudo magic user, but in reality she's a demonic fairy from the dark realm. Her boss fight involves her polymorphing into a variety of different, monstrous looking animals and beating the **** out of Link. General Onox: The other minion trying to resurrect Ganondorf. As a General, he's very high ranking in Ganondorf's forces. He wears golden iron knuckle armor with a Gerudo symbol emblazoned on his chest. It might seem strange that Ganondorf has a male commanding his armies, considering that Gerudo males are only born once every one hundred years, but during Link's boss fight with Onox he reveals he's actually a dragon summoned from the dark realm. King Bulblin: He leads Ganondorf's bulblin forces in Twilight Princess, raining terror down upon Hyrule's desolate countryside and its adjoining provinces. As far as we know, he's the only bulblin capable of speech. Probably lower ranking than some of the other minions on this list, it's not clear whether he takes orders directly from Ganondorf or from Zant. Zant: A power hungry Twili usurper who stole Midna's throne and christened himself the King of Twilight. He worships Ganondorf as if he were a god . . . as far as he knows, Ganondorf actually is a god. Most of his power seems to actually stem from Ganondorf, and it isn't clear if he's a powerful sorcerer in his own right or just a normal Twili.
Blind the Thief: The leader of a guild of thieves based in Kakariko Village. While it isn't 100% clear in ALttP that he's working for Ganondorf, the fact that he's been given control of Outcast Village and is guarding one of the Maidens Ganondorf captured heavily implies as much. Unlike most of Ganondorf's minions, he's originally from the light realm and most likely a Hylian. As a thief, he might have been one of Ganondorf's henchmen before he obtained the Tri-force of power, but it's possible Ganondorf recruited him after the fact. Aveil: She's the leader of the Gerudo tribe after Ganondorf imprisoned Nabooru for betraying him. She's responsible for the capture of the carpenters in OoT. Her Majora's Mask counterpart is also the leader of the Gerudo pirates. Unlike Nabooru, she appears completely loyal to Ganondorf, and seems unaware that Nabooru has defected. Not knowing who Link is, she makes him an honorary member of the Gerudo tribe after he defeats her lieutenants. Agahnim: A dark wizard who rises to a position of power in Hyrule, he eventually betrays the royal family and begins working to (iirc) release Ganondorf. It's revealed later that he's actually possessed by Ganondorf, or Ganondorf himself, and for that reason I don't really consider him a minion. Still, I know people will shout at me if he's not on this list, so here he is!
Zant was awesome tho how he acted at the end of TP was kinda......bizzare o_O yet still in character --- Fight to preserve that which inspires hope - Ezio Auditore
Bump! Zant is really dominating.
Onox was awesome if only because he made for a great boss battle --- http://i.imgur.com/VQTIb.png Press Left to brofist.
I have issues with Aveil being on this list. --- ERROR 404
She actually got a vote on the Skyward Sword forum. She is different from the others on the list though in that you never actually fight her, just her enforcers.
I liked how Twinrova had personality, at least in MM where they are just old ladies trying to get by. --- http://i.imgur.com/pVqey.png Arcvalons really is a genius.-kamikazetomato. If I remain a virgin until I reach 30 I become a wizard. - gamerTai.
***Oracle Games MAJOR spoiler**** I wouldn't really consider Veran and General Onox to be minions of Ganondorf, or more accurately, Ganon. They have their own desires and motives, and Twin Rova's plot felt like more of an afterthought on their part, and they are involved mainly just because they like being evil. Kinda simple, but it works.
Alan_00X posted... ***Oracle Games MAJOR spoiler**** Just looking at Onox . . . 1. He's not a Gerudo, but he's wearing iron knuckle armor with the Gerudo crest on it 2. He's actively working to resurrect Ganondorf 3. When you kill him, he taunts you by telling you he has completed his orders, and that the flame of destruction (which is needed to resurrect Ganondorf) is now lit I think he very easily qualifies as a minion, even if his motives aren't selfless. |
