Just a heads up, some people do not care for Alien 3, and some people find how things get started in Alien 3 annoying with so much info left out of how things happened.

If you watched the interview I posted then you would know the team at Gearbox had access to the storyboards that never made it into the films which this game is being considered canon so far, or at least that is the official word from Gearbox which the movie studios and those affiliated may come out with a different opinion later on.

Anyway, the game is supposed to explain what happened between Aliens and Alien 3 and actually make more sense of how Alien 3 happened.

As far as I'm concerned, only Alien and Aliens are canon :p Maybe Prometheus too, but I'll find out once I've seen it.

Did they really make ripley spout out cheesy one liners like that? (resurrection)

the older films are the best .

Sorry, lost track of where you were in the films with no updates, you just finished Resurrection?

I dont know if they forced her to do those cheesy one liners, but the whole film was more humor with some shock value and hardly befitting the series. Ron Pearlman was great though lol. I think this director was going for more of an action film rather than what the other Alien films were.

Then you get into AVP which are pretty straight up action films with no real horror in them.

What did you think of Alien 3? The game is supposed to tie Aliens and Alien3 better and make sense of what happened between the films.

The opening to Alien 3 is just ridiculous. It makes all of the work Ripley did in Aliens pointless.

I found 3 to be pretty pointless, sloppy, and almost funny it was so bad. I haven't seen ressurection, but I'm reluctant to. I heard that Ellen gets raped by the queen so the queen gets pregnant (how does that even make sense) and gives birth to a xeno-human or something, so it had eyes, skin, and other 'things' , that's jus sounds disturbing, even for the sexually undertoned alien series and xeno's.

And also, does anyone else think this fleshy xeno (newborn I think it was) just doesn't make much sense. The xenos (as we know them from 1 and 2) are already xeno-human because they were born from human hosts, which is why they have some human-like qualities, just like the predalien looks like the preds some because it was born of them, and with the dog (runner) from 3, so this supposed 'newborn' xeno-human hybrid doesn't fit the bill, since we've seen xeno-humans already, they're the ones from ALIEN(S)

I actually loved Alien 3. It had such a great tense build up. Then it had the awesome tunnel-chase finale. Admittedly the beginning of the movie was disappointing for obvious reasons but once you move past that it really did feel like a proper Alien movie.

Resurrection on the other hand was an abomination of the franchise. It was entertaining in it's own right but couldn't have been a bigger disapointment to the spirit of the franchise. If it weren't for Ron Pearlman and the wheelchair guy that hybrid .... thing ......? would have made the entire movie unwatchable. Once again Ron Pearlman saves the day of what would otherwise be a detestable sci-fi outing. He's like the guardian angel of decent sci-fi everywhere. Sci-fi fans will forever be in your debt for salvaging, at least partially, sooooo many near flops.
