Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge

As you beat the game on each difficulty, the chapter challenge for it unlocks, with the exception of Hero. You have to beat the game on X difficulty to unlock Chapter Challenge for that X difficulty.

I'm just glad it's back to the true difficulty of ninja gaiden. the one for 360 made me sad since I was able to get on master ninja and destroy so easily now I get my butt handed to me regularly, curse at my tv, and slice and dice enemies to the point of non recognition in rage...good times :P

How is that fun?

It's pretty tough in comparison to the lower difficulties, especially early on in the first couple of Days when Ryu is underdeveloped and the karma prices are exorbitant. I skipped completing all the Skull challenges (I did them all up to the bosses and if I died there I exited) and kept to upgrading a single weapon (plus a lvl 1 lunar) and also opted to purchase only health and that lvl 1 void ninpo (for quick copter kills) and the one with the flaming dragon (as it makes Day 7's spider tank pair easy peasy.) After plodding through UN I found MN fights actually fun.

Once the first UN run is in the bag though just like with the other difficulties you can use CC or a NG+ run to get all those skipped upgrades and such at your leisure.

Just started on MN yesterday and tried the first Test of Valor:

Shadow Fiends & Magnaselions
Armored soldiers & Chimeras
A bunch of Van Gelfs

^ a bit overkill for the first Valor imo, no wonder there are no Ultimate Ninja vids of them...

The enormous upgrade prices don't make things any better, rather lame way to up the difficulty.

don't leave out Doku after getting through all that, but you should do your best to SoB those first two waves as that's what they are there for, I know you can't do more than 2 kills in a row with a lvl 1 weapon and you're conserving karma, but every kill will charge up your health and fill that ninpo for the first couple of vangelfs, and the Doku fight takes forever with the weak weapon and Doku's tiny recovery window, good luck ninja brother
