Actually growing an interest in the WiiU

Hey guys,

I just moved to Oz and was looking at purchasing a console as I left my XBOX at home. They are all pretty much expensive over here but the WiiU, considering it's brand new seems good value.

I was never interested in the Wii, I only really swayed towards it for Zelda but never quite succumbed to it. But there are a few great titles coming out ...

I played the NG3 demo which was dog crap. In fact it infuriated me. NG1+2 were bloody brilliant and I have absolutely no idea how they dared to destroy such a master piece with the tripe they delivered to the PS3 and XBOX. Until I found this ...

It literally looks awesome.

Then I dug a little deeper in to the WiiU and found it gets sole rights (at least for now) to Bayonetta 2, holy crap. It makes NG what it should be and also gains that. Then I look up the Zombie game, fantastic.

Anything else I should know? As soon as I get paid ... it's getting purchased

Fair warning: Razor may look awesome and is indeed fun to play, but underneath the hood of this car you'll find a lot of nasty surprises.

- Enemies and certain bosses evade like crazy, rendering any form of freeflow combat completely useless as it's all about finding those cheap moves that WILL actually hit them >.>

- Targeting issues

- SoB punishes not connecting properly and instead turning into regular attacks. The scythe especially seems to suffer from this glitch

- Framerate issues

- Control issues

- Camera issues, mainly that it can't go outside the arena even for stages like the blimp arena from NG1 causes the issues

- Enemies abusing super armor, ignoring hitstun at will, insane tracking on attacks, input reading, badly balanced multi-hit guardbreakers. Couple this with their crazy evade and soon you'll become scared to press anything at all v.v

- Dodge move has crappy recovery. H-U-G-E minus here as this causes so many damage you wouldn't take in previous games.

The list goes on, but I don't want to spend all day as I've got a new Magi episode waiting for me! *throws smokebomb*

Appreciate the heads up. I'll do a little more digging and watch a few more vids and read a little more before I invest then.

Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii U is awesome. I like it as much as Ninja Gaiden 2. The game has added weapons, nimpo, and dismemberment over the original. It's also cool being able to play the game on the gamepad.

I dunno, but is the frame rate an issue with the Wii U? I hope it's not there in the PS3 / X360 version, because it seems to completely destroy the fun of the game. Also, the camera apparently, was ALWAYS a problem. I didn't have control issues with the vanilla game, I dunno how will it work on Razor's Edge. The inability to use free combos in harder difficulties is just plain bad though. I hate having to spam the same **** over and over again. I'm not hardcore though, and don't really have too many issues with the A.I in Normal, as they don't seem to block / dodge forever.
Bosses are ****ed up, no disagreement there. The only difficulty that allow attacking as you'd like against a boss, is Hero, which makes taking damage pointless...

I personally would recommend taking a look at Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, I've played the demo and everything I've seen in trailers shows that this game is gonna be amazing! But hey, it's PG after all they rock so hard at action games ^^
And they're also releasing Bayonetta 2 for WiiU (probably the main reason a lot of people got excited for the WiiU back then with that Nintendo Direct).

As a diehard NG fan I can honestly say, there are better things on the horizon then Razor xd

Oh yeah, watch the latest Nintendo Direct for the new upcoming games that were announced. If this doesn't grow your interest for WiiU, nothing will lol

The framerate gets really bad sometimes, but for the most part it's pretty smooth. Just those few parts are really bad at fps....
Control issues, remember that Ryu not responding to your dodge input problem for NG3? It's still there, rarely happens now but it still isn't fixed >.<
The camera has always been a problem that you could work around with practise, but its efficiency has dropped even more in NG3/Razor as that wall restriction makes it bloody awful.

I hated the Wii, but I am enjoying the Wii U I got at launch. It's a little light on software, but every console seems to be during its first year. I think it's worth investing in, and will be even more so if the PS4/720 end up with that stupid "always online" DRM.

Honestly, there are a handful of Wii games worth playing once you get a Wii U. I'd never buy back a Wii, but I have about 9 Wii games that I am happy to own while I wait for Bayonetta 2, etc.

The only way that the Wii U is gonna be worth purchasing is once third party developers are convince the console is worth developing on, so far the only third party developers that are supporting the Wii U is Ubisoft, Activision, EA and Warner Bros, Tecmo/Koei and Platinum Games. But even Ubisoft and Activision are having their doubts about the Wii U's performance.

And we don't know if Sony and Microsoft next gen consoles are gonna required to be always online, they are just rumors so far.

I bought a Wii U for NG3 RE and WO3, but was it worth it? not IMO and maybe I was better off waiting for more games before deciding on buying one.
