The only ones you could even begin to complain about are the clones. Ganondorf>Falco>Roy>Young Link>Dr. Mario>Pichu I'm basing that on how important I feel that they are to their original series. --- You can't end a good party without someone on the floor- Yusuke Urameshi

Bowser, Peach, Zelda, and Mewtwo were all A-list characters who absolutely deserved to be playable; Marth brought the Fire Emblem series into Smash Bros.; and Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch were unique characters representing different parts of Nintendo’s past.
The clones brought the overall vibe of the roster down, honestly. I love Ganondorf, but his Melee representation was terrible, and we were stuck with the same core concept in Brawl because of that.

The only Melee newcomers that sucked were Pichu, Dr. Mario and Young Link. And they were all cut. Though in Young Link's case he was replaced by a much better Link.
The rest were fine. --- Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U Official Site: http://www.smashbros.com/us/

Sakurai said he wanted to divide the newcomers between fan favorites and unexpected surprises. The first group was Bowser, Peach, Mewtwo, and Marth, and the second group was Zelda, Sheik, Ice Climbers, and Mr. G&W. The six clones weren't originally planned. --- "The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense." -Tom Clancy
