And again, my main issue is that Nintendo very well could have done something with Geno by now, and I'd have liked them to have that chance. Bugs me that SE keeps him for no reason what so ever. They won't ever use him, and thus they should have just given them to Nintendo. Kind of like Disney owning the KH characters, though I suppose Disney may do something with them. Given that this is one of the few instances in which he'd actually have some logic behind his inclusion, it'd be nice to see him.
Also have to agree, Fawful would be a good choice. He's... just plain quirky. And has plenty of moveset potential.

The ice flower wasn't taken from Partners in Time, actually. The team at Tokyo EAD more than likely made it without knowing it was even in that game, as you can tell by the colors of the rings on the flower. And of course, how it affects the Mario bros. They seem very unrelated. |

It really has no direct effect on what might have been Geno's fate, but still, no way to show one way or the other that they didn't know. Could have just changed it to better suit the gameplay. Already had a flower that shoots ranged projectiles. But seriously, you keep changing the rules or say my examples don't really work, hardly fair.
And really main villain in third, subvillain in first. But really, he's definitely a noteworthy individual within the Mario RPG series as a whole. I'd say he's deserving of it. And would be more unique than a Paper Mario, as much as I feel he has moveset potential beyond what Mario himself has.

There's no proof that they did or that they didn't. Neither of us have enough evidence. But I'm thinking it was a coincidence. The different design suggests that they have no relation to each other. And what do you mean I'm changing the rules? This is the same rule here. That nothing from the spinoff games have made their way into the main line of Mario games. |

Even so, the Mario series, even if they kept Geno only in spin-offs, would be more than enough for me. Again, what bothers me is the potential being wasted.

harvestmoonmikePosted 6/17/2011 1:53:23 AM | You know whats even worse? Square-Enix made Mario Sports Mix and could've easily put in Geno and Mallow... But instead put in Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters.
That was their chance to bring him back big time (well, sports...) and they didn't.
I just don't know if Nintendo wants RPG characters outside of the RPGs that they were made for... Doesn't seem like they do. |

And regardless of them appearing in the main series or not, that really has no effect on them appearing in this. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it can't happen. Which is really all that matters, since I'm talking about a hypothetical appearance. I'm not saying he will be in, but ruling anyone out is kind of silly, and in the event that SE hadn't kept the rights to him, no telling what kind of scenario we'd be looking at.
