I never understood why he wasn't included, I mean he wasn't the most popular character back then but the Wario Land games were kind of relevant I think. There's absolutely no excuse for the melee snub, but w/e

And he'd say "Oh my God!" in the Japanese version.

Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember her, you are not alone.

Melee was only going to have 20 characters originally (counting Sheik.) When Sakurai added decided to add the 6 clones to expand the roster, he considered Wario for a slower, stronger Mario clone. But he felt that Wario deserved better than being a clone, so they went with Dr. Mario.

Kind of a weird logic if you ask me. He feels that Wario is important, but it's better to exclude him completely than to be a clone?

C. Wario's a pretty popular and well-known character with his own series.

D. Mario and Luigi were enough.

D. 3 characters for 1 series when the roster was so limited, seems a bit overkill. Melee yes, but not 64

There's also the not wanting to change the play styles of people's mains. Isn't that the reason for Ganondorf remaining a clone?
