It amazes me that...

People think putting Ridley in as a playable character is actually a good idea.
In every smash game the characters are about the size they should be with few exceptions, (Charizard, etc) but Ridley would take up half the screen if they didn't want him to be less than 1/2 the normal size.

Not to mention, he would be virtually unplayable due to his size and would look like an overgrown mosquito if shrunken down.

Olimar "should be" microscopic in size compared to the rest of the roster.

Size arguments = invalid.

Smash isn't canon. I don't see the goddamn problem in ignoring canon size for gameplay purposes.

Besides, technically the characters in Smash are not the actual characters. They are trophy representations of the characters. Last time I checked, in real life, statue representations of people didn't have to be the same size as the actual person they represent.

Given that video game characters are themselves fictional, this explanation may seem a bit odd...but it doesn't make it any less true.

Wrong. Abraham Lincoln was over ten feet tall.

See Mario's size relative to Bowser's size in SMB1 and virtually every other Mario game. Nitpicking doesn't help your case.

The characters in the Smash Bros. series are small when compared to real-life objects to begin with. Remember SSB's intro?

Umm, according to the official Pokedex entries, Lucario should be just under four feet tall. Charizard would be about five and a half feet tall. Mewtwo is SIX and a half feet tall. Doesn't exactly seem small compared to real-life objects to me, yet they are comparable in size in the Smash Bros games to these opponents who are, you claim, so much smaller than that.

Again, size = irrelevant to Smash Bros.

See Ridley's size relative to Samus's size in the original Metroid game.

Also, the Honey Queen proves that sizes aren't accurate in Mario spinoff games, so don't bother bringing them up.

Then why wasn't Olimar even smaller? He was a trophy, too.

And if a trophy's size doesn't have to be accurate to the size of other trophies, then why can't Ridley be resized?
