Ever think the Zelda series might go modern?

The irony of SS going modern, though, is that it's technically the first Zelda game chronologically.

LOL "Zelda Chronology". There is no chronology, half the games in the series were declared to be the "first one" when they were released.

Ignorance is not bliss.

I wouldn't mind it, could be interesting. Spirit Tracks is technologically the furthest on and has started to rebuild Hyrule, whilst also being the last game chronologically. I'd like to see them advance on new Hyrule and have ST Link take on more foes.

Good God, no.

If Zelda is to go modern I'd like to see a steampunk game first. Although I guess Spirit Tracks could count as that.

But I'd rather have the Zelda series stay as medieval.

Isaac, Felix, or Matthew for SSB4!

As a one off game with tech equivalent to the present or future? Sure.
As a regular thing? No way.

Except there was an official timeline released recently.h

Any chronology applied to the games was decided on after-the-fact, each game is designed as a stand-alone story and then on fan-demand later appended onto the series' "timeline". Hell some of the games in the series were so irreconcilable they had to declare that they were actually alternate timelines from one-another, though I don't know if they changed their minds about this later.

Wind Waker was clearly developed with split timeline in mind.
It was a clear sequel to Ocarina, but at the same time contradicted other games connected to Ocarina.

Needs to a crossover with Metroid to be possibly good.

Also, Smash doesn't count.
