Move over, Paper Mario and Yarn Kirby.

...... There are no words. Yarn Yoshi? Really Nintendo? Now not only are you being uncreative but you're actually taking one franchise's shallow gimmick and using it for a completely different franchise?

And you wonder why last year you posted your first net loss ever.

This topic just made me realize...

We're probably going to get a ton of requests for Yarn Yoshi, aren't we? I mean, the Yoshi series doesn't really have a lot to offer when it comes to a second rep (lol at Kamek being its ideal second rep) and when characters like Paper Mario and Yarn Kirby still get requested fairly often... Yikes.

Why can't Kamek be a good second rep? Major villain in multiple series, plot important, unique, relevant character... sounds good to me.

Because good games can't be made with a similar art style. Okay. How do you know that the yarn thing isn't plot important, making YEY a semi-sequel to KEY?

Implying that the plot of a Yoshi game can be called anything resembling "important" is laughable at its core. If the yarn thing is important to the plot it'll be because it was made up to justify the artstyle in the first place. Just like Kirby.

Why does Yoshi need a second rep?

I just think it's funny they give a main character it's first game on the '"'"''"Next Gen'''"""" platform and you don't even get to see the faithful representation in all its HD glory.

You get an outline.

Edit: I'm sorry, it looks pretty cool. Chase me away with pitchforks if you'd like.

What gets me about it is that it's quite clearly a VERY unfinished product. The environments are so bland, flat and boring that there's no way they're even remotely representative of what the finished product might look like. The whole video looks like a tech-demo designed to test Yoshi's animations in a flat placeholder environment, but Nintendo's so desperate for content to reassure people that there ARE good games coming out for the Wii U someday so people will bother to buy one that they shoveled it onto the internet.
