The roster will without a doubt be bigger than in Brawl. Sakurai was just framing his mindset behind the game. Notice how his quoted words are merely his abstract thoughts, and the article itself writes everything else twisting his words into absolutes?

This. Especially with the tricky issue of transformations and contoling more than one character per slot.

Sometimes I wonder if we should talk more about slots in place characters when it comes to who gets in/goes/stays...

I don't know about you guys but this is new news to me but anyways this is still early in its development and besides, Nintendo said that SSB will be shown this years E3 so I'm sure we will have new Characters such as Beyonetta now that she is now Exclusive to Nintendo.
