Well, that kind of makes sense. There needs to be a seam somewhere. It is next to impossible to just sew together a full body suit in one piece. It would be made in parts. And, one of the most obvious separations would be the legs.

Where else would you separate the legs from the body? It has to be somewhere curved. A straight line seam would cause it to be less flexible and eventually rip. The only other option is something like the middle picture.
