Do you think Chrom will replace Marth or Ike in this game?

By now it's pretty safe to assume Fire Emblem has two slots in Smash. Marth and the latest main character in the franchise.

I really do not believe that Lyn is out of the question. If any character that's not new is out of the question, then all hopes of Ike, Roy, Sigurd, Eliwood, Ephraim and Eirika, and Micaiah are completely empty.

The only two characters you named that have a chance of being in this game are Ike and Roy, and that's because they're vets.

Yes, because you can form a pattern from only two examples, and all patterns absolutely must be followed no matter what.

Charizard wasn't a vet either and he was just as outdated by the time they added him in Brawl. So it's not impossible for them to see Lyn's AT and consider her. So i'm pretty sure Ike and Roy aren't the only characters with a chance.

Fire Emblem was meant to have 3 slots in Brawl. Roy was cut very last minute and had his Eruption move given to Ike. Like I said, Fire Emblem is too popular to be limited to 2 slots, and could easily have 4.

But is Lyn the latest Fire Emblem hero? No, no she isn't. her game is too old now, it's like suggesting Midna or Zant. She wasn't even the main character (though a major one for sure), Eliwood was.

I don't think latest really matters. She was one of three main characters in the game, and the first playable Lord outside of Japan. For some of people, Lyn has that special place in some fans hearts just like Marth.

I believe Sakurai said somewhere that he was going for a more East vs. West type thing instead of including a ton of East only characters. Lyn would definitely be good representation to the West because not only is she the first Lord that was playable in the West, but her 10 chapter tutorial is what taught people outside Japan how to play these games we've been missing out on for 14 years.

I really do not believe that Lyn is out of the question. If any character that's not new is out of the question, then all hopes of Ike, Roy, Sigurd, Eliwood, Ephraim and Eirika, and Micaiah are completely empty.

The East VS West thing was a from a rumor that was proven false.

And it sadly is out of the question for those characters. The only reason Roy or Ike have chances to return is cause they were in Smash before as Playable characters. Why did we get Ike over anyone else in Brawl? Cause he was the most recent hero at the time. And he still pretty much was in Radiant Dawn.

With SMT X FE coming, it looks like there won't be a major FE in for a while and Chrom being the hero of Awakening pretty much makes him the likeliest newcomer for FE at least. Ike could return due to being popular in Brawl and unique. But 3 is max. It won't have more reps that Mario, Zelda or Pokemon.

I don't think we will be getting 3 blue haired sword wielders. I want to Ike to stay. Marth never really did much for me but I get his importance. I say keep both and forget Chrom

Marth is pretty much guaranteed, as well as at least one of Ike or Chrom. What the third slot will be, and whether or not FE even gets a third slot, is too hard to say.

But Charizard is a gen I starter, the equivalent of Marth, not Lyndis or Ephraim. That they went with him and not, say, Blaziken just supports the notion that you have to be either recent or one of the originals to stand a chance.

Besides, Pokemon is one of Nintendo's largest franchises and has more Smash reps than any other. Fire Emblem, on the other hand, has a very limited number of slots available, so only the most deserving characters are going to get them.

Too many emo Marth fanboy N-air masher to get rid of him. Even if he got cut (or heck, even nerfed) the fanboys would start a DLC crusade to get him put back on the roster (or re-buffed). Ike, maybe, but probably not. More likely they'd just add a character.
