The Hylian shield is canonically said to be indestructible. I'd say sonic would be fats enough to out-maneuver link. If he's moving at close to the speed of sound, he'll be moving faster than the human eye can perceive, easily.

I think you folks ought to start using science and logic in your arguments.

Indestructible in the Zelda-verse =/= indestructible everywhere else.

Canonically it takes two consecutive hits to kill Sonic.

For this I'd place him near the bottom. :/

I am the cheese. I am the best character on the show. I am better than both the salami and the bologna combined.

Link can withstand over 1000 tons of pressure though, what about those robots sonic fights? Can Sonic even get through Link's defense or would he just bounce off of his shield?

Normal Sonic easily busts up robots made of steel. In Sonic Generations, he beat Perfect Chaos. Link's shield ain't doing ****!

this.

I love Link, but the Hylian Shield isn't doing anything to stop Sonic's spin dash. Especially at how powerful he is as of Generations.

Yeah but how much force does it take to destroy a robot made of steel? A steel plate can only withstand 20 - 40 tons of pressure, Link can withstand a lot more than that.
And why wouldn't Link have the mirror shield since its superior to the hylian shield in every way and can absorb and reflect magical and elemental attacks...

Obviously not counting Super Sonic right now..

You didn't really listen... Even if it is indestructible, it wouldn't matter, because link would be sent flying at high velocity the moment sonic smashed in to him, though, sonic should also be splatted like a fly on a windshield... Hooray for ignoring physics.

The PS4 is stronger than Sonic. It does 240fps and hyperrealism.

Obviously the PS4 is more powerful than Sonic, but how does it count as a Smash character?

The PS4 is going to have a better version of Smash, PSA2, so it counts.

The game's crap. Even Smash 64 beats it.

What makes you think Link would be sent flying?
He has the golden gauntlets which put him in the 1,000 ton class, what comparable strength feats does base Sonic have?

I'm thinking about it scientifically.

If sonic is moving at the speed of sound and impacts link, That kinetic energy is going to be transferred into link, which would send him flying. It doesn't matter how much force he can resist. He doesn't have enough mass and weight just to stand there and take it like a brick wall. Even in the games he still gets knocked back when wearing the gauntlets.

This is an approximation of what would happen, and that rocket is moving at sub-sonic speeds.

thats a good point, the kinetic energy would have to go somewhere
