I'd rather have FF stay as far away from Smash as possible, but if I had to pick, I'd go with Cecil.

His Dark Knight form can charge up energy and use Darkness to power up his attacks, but he gains damage doing so. Also fairly sluggish. And his Paladin form can be a bit faster but weaker, jump higher, heal some damage, and maybe a projectile or two.

Moogle, Mumba or Chocobo. No other FF rep shoul come any closer to Smash.
