I wonder if we will get more info on SSBWU or X/Y first. I guess this game will be far into development before we even know what a potential rep for the new pokemon games could be (unless Nintendo coordinated for the sole purpose of promoting the games).

So? Do they need a playable pokemon from gen 5 or 6? No they don't. They can rep plenty of new Pokemon with the Pokeball item.

Besides, Gen 1 Pokemon have been in EVERY SINGLE POKEMON GAME EVER. And as a whole, they have some of the most reconizable Pokemon out there, especially the original starter lines, Pikachu, and Mewtwo.

I'm not against new Pokemon being playable btw, I'm just saying that the thought of "too many Gen 1 reps" is absurd, especially when they are veteran Smash characters.

If Mewtwo had been in Brawl as originally planned, then we'd have gotten six Gen 1 reps, plus Lucario. So I don't think they'd have a problem with six Gen 1 reps plus someone from Gens 5 or 6.
