Anyone else hope this game is cel-shaded?

I hope Link looks like he does in the Zelda Wii U teaser trailer long ago, and everyone is based around that. I also really enjoyed the look of Melee.

That wasn't a teaser trailer, it was a tech demo for the Wii U.
The final Zelda Wii U game probably won't look anything like that.

Personally I hope Link in this is based of SS, because that's his best design (except for some of the Classic Links, but they're just not likely).

Why would I want this game to look terrible?

Brawl's art style was inspired by Twilight Princess, as every character was redesigned to match Link. So if Link takes on his Skyward Sword design in this game...

What? No brawl's art design was not based off of how twilight princess' characters looked and they certainly didnt base everyone else around that. Brawl had its own art design, and that design gave almost everything more detail and a look that would mesh well with all their styles when they updated them.

This is probably the most likely outcome right now, people can say no but really they started this last year and i doubt very much they are going to use a wiiu link design and show it at this E3 before that zelda game is anywhere near close to being shown to the public.

This. There's a reason why cel-shading wasn't used for a lot of the games SSB_ got characters from, even on systems where they could do that in 3D.

I want a Smash Bros. game that has a look like the Mario Strikers official art.

It looks very intense and I think a style like that would not only mix well with all the various characters, but it would also have a certain look that really fits well with the energy and insanity you'd find in any game of Super Smash Bros. It's perfect.

No. I love the realistic look of characters from Brawl. Mario was a good example, going from just a blotch of color in SSB64 to viewable buttons on his overalls in Melee to the stitching of his denim in Brawl. I hope in this one they add those adjusters on the shoulders of his overalls. That would be amazing. I want soooooooooooooooooo much detail on characters in this game...

That being said, I'd love if certain characters who'd have a hard time coming up with alternate costumes for, Yoshi for example, would instead have different art styles. Like, a clay looking Yoshi from Yoshi's Island 3DS, or a Yoshi that looks hand drawn.

I agree with what he said, Brawls art style was amazing, and it had an amazing level of detail for a standard def game, and on WiiU this would be even better. And toon link still fit in with everything and some stages were cartoony or cel shaded and still fit in with the characters art style.
