Instead of Zero Suit/Samus, wouldn't Dark Samus/Samus be better?

Wouldn't it be cool if they took Samus directly from Metroid Prime Corruption and used the corruption feature? Maybe Samus could go into a hyperbeam mode. While in this hyperbeam mode, she turns into Dark Samus which allows her to have different moves that are more powerful. The downside? Her damage would increase at a steady rate (maybe 1% per second?)

If you had played Metroid Prime Corruption, you would've realized that when Samus becomes fully corrupted, she turns into a copy of Dark Samus. Screw Zero Suit Samus man.

If you played MP3 you would've realized that it's game over when Samus gets fully corrupted. Let's give Mario an FS where he loses all his lives while we're at it.

Not to mention that it's A Dark Samus, not THE Dark Samus, A.K.A Metroid Prime in the Phazon Suit. And I'm pretty sure that the fully corrupted form from that cutscene is irreversible.

Yes, it's irreversible...which what add to the whole dynamic and make her character unique. It would pretty well be a "balls to the wall" mode that she would have. Deadly yet reckless.

Or they could just, you know, have the actual character that was an antagonist in 3 games instead of a what-if scenario on a game over screen.

It wouldn't be a final smash. Your comeback to that is marked with stupidity...those scenarios are nothing alike. Samus loses control and turns into Dark Samus while Mario simply dies.

It gives people Dark Samus and a unique character dynamic while removing the need for another clone character. Sounds like a win-win to me.
