How much bettter would Mewtwo have been in Melee if..

#1Arcanine2009Posted 4/29/2013 5:40:56 PM(edited)
it was/had

1. in heavy weight class. Heavier than Samus, but lighter than DK and Bowser
2. a fall-speed of young link( this fall speed is canceled when jumping and becomes floaty like current Mewtwo in Melee)
3. a dashing speed equal to Marth
4.. able to duck under projectiles.
5 his confusion deflected back enemy projectiles at 1.5x faster speed and actually damaged the enemy. Animation of confusion is also cut down by 1.5x
6. If his down smash hits both sides
7. his disable had 2x the range, lasted 2x as long, and 2x the distance in knockback(if used on a stunned enemy)

everything else about Mewtwo(rest of its special attacks, a moves, floatiness, roll speed, etc) remained the same.

Now imagine all of this being transported into SSB4

some links to show how Mewtwo would stack in fall speed, weight, and dash speed in relation to other characters

Sounds like how he should've been.

Also, Mewtwo's Shadowball has infinite range.

He would still suck.

The problem being that he attacked mainly with his tail.

So what if he attacked with his tail?

Mewtwo seriously needs to be one of the fastest movement speed characters, and be a heavy weight(or at least medium). If they fixed everything I noted, made his A neural comboble, he would be decent.

1. sounds good, he is originally heavier in the Pkmn games than in Smash.
2. nah, his floatiness is what I actually liked about controlling him. I know it has disadvantages (getting juggled, etc.), but I would keep his falling speed.
3. I'm all for having him be faster (again, Pkmn games have him much faster).
4. nah, he doesn't need to get broken
5. That would make Confusion much better and useful, and actually usable
6. Yeah, he was the only character who didn't have a down smash hit both sides in Melee. Then again, Zero Suit Samus had the same trait in Brawl and she is still pretty good.
7. Sure, but I think disable would still suck. It is risky, capable of missing, slow, and does not hit both sides.

How would him being able to duck projectiles make him broken?. He was like the only character in melee who couldn't duck under projectiles.. Mainly Fox and Falco's blaster's..

His tail was a pretty important part of his functional moveset in Melee. Don't see why it was that much of a bad thing.
