losst4everPosted 6/9/2011 1:33:37 PM | I see / have seen most people are saying a night time play should be added, and i really actually despise the idea. That would just kill the whole day time countdown, and the numbers of days played and such. To me, both of those are a huge part of pikmin (Sunset approaching!) that should stay.
For such a widespread idea, I think it's one of the worst ideas. |
boydude77Posted 6/9/2011 2:35:48 PM | I don't think it's that bad an idea. I mean, it would be a great chance to bring in new enemies. And plus it would be cool if at night, the radar on the ship stopped working so you couldn't see a map. --- Son, I brought you into this world, and I can take you out just as easily, now clean up your room. |
imdawinnerPosted 6/9/2011 2:42:20 PM | I think this would work if they added it as postgame content. Once you collected all of whatever it is you'll be collecting in the main story, you can come back and find additional items/ enemies/ etc. Also, the no radar idea would work great for this, it wouldn't be TOO bad of a detriment seeing as you already beat the game. The thing is, would there be an "end of night"'? --- WarioWare DIY Name:Coolguy FC:2622-5214-5337 |
AdokadPosted 6/9/2011 2:42:37 PM | Also, I would think that night-time play would make certain enemies, such as Red Bulborbs, roam around the area instead of sleep. I like the idea of the radar not working at night too. --- Currently playing: Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, Radiata Stories, Persona 3: FES, and Pikmin 2. |
losst4ever (Topic Creator) Posted 6/9/2011 3:24:08 PM | it has some potential, but it really defeats the day clock and getting all your pikmin home in time. |
Archer_YoshiPosted 6/9/2011 4:18:56 PM | How about just a night survival mode? --- :-] Pikmin 3. Pikmin 3. Pikmin 3. Spread the word. If you believe in Jesus Christ, and are 100% proud of it, put this as your signature. |
Sparx401Posted 6/9/2011 4:39:38 PM | Unless you have one (or two) captains for day and night respectively, and have pikmin and enemies only available during the day or night. So for example, if you have red pikmin that are available in the day, and have green pikmin that are available only during the night, then the timers still would matter, because red pikmin can be counted as dead after sunset, and green pikmin can be counted as dead after sunrise. There would be timers for both day and night, and the consequences are essentially the same. --- My blog - No BS - Open to Criticism: http://sparx401.blogspot.com/ |
boydude77Posted 6/9/2011 5:53:26 PM | WHAT IF, the Red Bulbords roamed at night and the Bulbears slept at night. A complete opposite. --- Son, I brought you into this world, and I can take you out just as easily, now clean up your room. |
Sparx401Posted 6/9/2011 6:04:05 PM | I wrote something similar to that in my own little Pikmin 3 idea. We already know that bulborbs are active predators at night, so their behavior could switch to something similar to bulbears. This is just one of the little things that makes a cumulative difference in the end if they were to implement this style of nighttime gameplay. --- My blog - No BS - Open to Criticism: http://sparx401.blogspot.com/ |
