Why does Nintendo delay everything?

They actually work hard on their games.

Well... eh... Their games do seem to have the most polish, which is why I always go for Nintendo, but it really does seem like they don't care anymore in some cases.

Nothing to see here, but the post below me sure looks suspicious.

It never really mattered to me if we were getting this game in late Feb. or some time in April either way We knew this wasn't gonna be one of the games in the "launch window"
They need to space all the games out since there is probably gonna be little to nothing till holiday 2013.

Remember Shigeru Miyamoto's quote "A delayed game is good eventually, a bad game is bad forever."

if they delayed it that means there are still things to work on, and as a die hard Pikmin fanboy I would rather have it delayed and as good as can be rather than release it sooner and have it be not as good.
And yes I am annoyed when they delay the games, but I get over it quickly because I know it will be just that much better when it finally comes out.

Quality games take time.

Delays make sure games get good.

Look at lolbrawl and TP (which, by the way, has almost nothing from the epic trailers).

Though if they have to delay pikmin3, hopefully it's for good reasons.

Because they're perfectionists.

Metroid 64 got delayed right into the next generation and became a sort of Prime.

Pikmin and Kirby Return to Dreamland are in the same boat, its pretty ridiculous in this case considering the game probably is finished.

No, John, unfortunately we don't have a code for "There's a man in my closet with a gun to my daughter's head." Although we obviously should.

False. Return to Dreamland was not in development since GC. The Kirby demo from GC is not the same game as RtD; it was cancelled (but RtD took ideas from that GC demo)

Don't mix my Pikmin with your Kirby.

Right, it's not the "same" game, but is uses many of the base elements that were planned for it, such as 4 player support, as well as the DeDeDe Mech boss being reused for the EX-Mode's metal general boss fight.

It would be incorrect to say it's the same game.

That's why.

Miyamoto said it himself.
