Several titles have been delayed since the start of wii u from 3ds games to wii u titles. Pikmin 3 was supposed to be a launch title since then it has been delayed to launch window and now delayed again to out of delayed window most sites say quarter 2 but with the lack of news on it and no direct response as to why we can't say for sure when it will arrive. But, this isnt the only game thats been delayed rayman legends was also a launch title and a finished game but was delayed till February and now September. Many articles report nintendo being in need for funds I don't understand why a finished game was postponed due to wanting it on multiple consoles why not release the wii u version to get sales then port it later? there are numerious other games that have been delayed recenelt from this company what do you think about all this?

Rayman legends is Ubisoft's game not Nintendo's; Nintendo doesn't have control over that game's development.

ok but were not talking about development were talking about releases and again that game is done with development. at least for wii u it was as for ps3 and xbox 360 well thats why they claimed it has been delayed till september which i dont find excusable becaause other games are ported after release. Now I don't know if ubisoft or nintendo gets to decide when it gets released into stores but im sure nintendo could have asked them to release it sooner. Also im talking about over all delays games that got deayed are pikmin 3, rayman legends, animal crossing, luigis mansion, and im sure im missing some but you get the point all of those were set to release a while ago but still arent here

To be fair Pikmin 3 was never given a release date, people just assumed it would come out as a launch title.

But yes, I do think there's been a lot of delays but i'm fine with that. Better to get good games then rushed ones.

It doesn't bother me at all, I'd rather the game came out with as much polish as possible. Besides, I can wait, there are other things to do of course..

I don't believe they every said Pikmin 3 was supposed to be a launch title. They originally said it would be launching in Q1, and now they're saying it's going to launch in Q2.

Rayman Legends isn't a Nintendo game.

Many articles report nintendo being in need for funds

Many articles are wrong.

Again, Rayman isn't a Nintendo game.

Pikmin 3 + Rayman Legends are two separate games, one from Nintendo, one from Ubisoft, not a "Mass of Nintendo games".

My only thought is that I'm not buying a Wii U until Pikmin 3 comes out... and even then, I may still hold off if the game doesn't seem particularly fun and/or there's still a shortage of other fun Wii U games.

Honestly, I see Apple storming the living room from no where (same as they did with mobile) and taking over before the Wii U has a chance. At that point, I hope I see Nintendo become a software + maybe an accessory vender for Apple.

Keep in mind that whereas most every other company loves to talk about products a year before launch (case in point: Sony on the PS4), Apple generally announces announcements about a week in advance and they announce products about 2-4 weeks in advance of their release. So any day, you could hear Apple announce that they have a press conference, and two months later you could see Apple having sold more entertainment systems than Nintendo has sold Wii Us.

But I'm straying off topic. With every delay of Pikmin 3, Nintendo's odds of dying as a company increase. They might have a huge amount of money right now, but what happens if the Wii U flops? They'll have to use all that money they have saved up to work on its successor. If the development of the successor + games for it costs too much and they run dry, they're bankrupt and its over. If they release the successor and it too flops, then they're bankrupt and its over.

Nintendo will do best, I think, if they adopt a model more like what's used by cell phone companies. Release incremental updates annually, but allow for a huge amount of backwards compatibility. Let systems become obsolete after 3-4 years or so, but make it so that there is always something newer and better for the "hardcore" gamers to pick up. If they're not capable of doing this, then they (and Microsoft and Sony with them,) should be prepared to exit the hardware market when someone else comes in with that model.

What most people assumed was that it would be in the launch window. And this was only after Reggie stated it would be released within the launch window which he described as launch date to March 31st 2013.

I think that there are two possibilities.

One, is that these games actually need the work than the marketing department realized.

Two, is that Nintendo is going to have a mass-launch of games just before the PS4 launches in a business-strategy attempt to "steal thunder".

It could also be a mix of the two.

Honestly though, are game droughts to be expected when a system launches.

PS3, Wii, 3DS, Vita, Wii U.
Pattern?
